App Spotlight: BatON Bluetooth Battery Scanner

Wireless headphones are becoming popular with the technology being cheap and available. Also with some phone manufacturers removing the headphone jack people are forced to use Bluetooth. Working out either at the gym or running while listening to music is pretty standard. Bluetooth headphones makes it really easy but the issue is battery needs to be recharged and the worst feeling is having the battery die when in one of those activities.

BatON helps resolve this issue since it can notify the user when the battery on their headphones is low. Not all devices will work as I have a Fitbit Charge HR and Sony MDRXB950BT/L Bluetooth headphones. Neither report battery level properly so I have disabled them as shown below.

There are different settings on how often the app scans for battery level changes and how the user is notified. Either by notification or a toast notification on screen. Best of all it’s free.
